Winter sports in the Tyrolean mountains

Tyrol is known worldwide for its snow-covered mountains and dreamlike ski resorts. And even if skiing is the main attraction in winter, there are many other winter sports you can practice in the mountains and valleys around Hall.

SPORTS POSSIBILITIES IN WINTER

The Hotel Der Reschenhof**** in Mils is located in the middle of the beautiful Hall-Wattens region. Thanks to the ideal location, you have countless opportunities for sports activities not far from the hotel.

Skiing and snowboarding on the Glungezer - The longest downhill run in Tyrol

From the Hotel Reschenhof**** you are at the foot of the Glungezer in no time. The motto at the local mountain of the city of Hall is "snow reliability, sun and coziness", and this promise is also kept. The panoramic skiing area Glungezer offers perfectly groomed natural snow slopes, surrounded by untouched nature. The magnificent wide view over the Inn Valley and the peaks of the Nordkette ensure the great popularity with alpine and touring ski fans. As a special treat, there is the longest downhill run in Tyrol for you to discover on the Glungezer - with over 15 km. Near the Reschenhof you will find a ski school and a ski rental for your ideal ski vacation. The ski areas Axamer Lizum, Patscherkofel, Nordkette, Stubai Glacier and many others are also very easy to reach from the Hotel Reschenhof.

Cross-country skiing

Sports enthusiasts, hobby cross-country skiers and nature lovers alike appreciate the cross-country skiing offer in the Hall-Wattens region. On the sunny Gnadenwald plateau, over 10 km of groomed trails await friends of the classic style. The skating track is about 8 km long. From Monday to Thursday the night cross-country trail is illuminated. In Tulfes/Rinn a 13.5 km long, snow-covered trail leads classic cross-country skiers and skaters into untouched nature. The use of the trails is free of charge.

Tobogganing

With us there are plenty of mountains and therefore also plenty of opportunities for a hearty tobogganing. Curvy and varied natural toboggan runs wind through the forest. For sports tobogganers and for families, there is a suitable track for everyone. At some toboggan runs, huts invite you to stop for a break. At the Vögelsberg in Wattens you even have the chance to enjoy the winter landscape at night, because the toboggan run there, which is covered with snow if necessary, is illuminated.

Snowshoeing, Winter Hiking & Torchlight Hikes

Snowshoeing and winter hiking is something for romantics and true nature lovers. You enjoy the absolute silence and the immediate proximity to nature. With the snowshoes you hardly sink even in high snow, but go gently and safely the ways. This way you can reach the snow-covered peaks even in winter. Alternatively, you can take a leisurely stroll through the deep snow-covered winter forest. The Hall-Wattens region with its endless forests and snow-covered mountain pastures is a particularly popular winter hiking area.

A special highlight is our nightly torchlight hike followed by a mulled wine party at the Reschenalm. You will be guided by our senior chef.
